Home births and midwife assistance is becoming the ultimate trend thanks to Ricki Lake and her controversial documentary The Business of Being Born!!!
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the number of home births jumped over 30 percent for white women in the U.S. between 2004 and 2009.

Me too!! the first time I ever saw some of it (not all of it at the time) it was when my sister-in-law (who has birthed at a birthing center & at home) showed it to me during my first pregnancy when I was thinking about it versus a hospital. Ended up going the hospital route being a first time mom & unsure. Recently saw the whole thing through-twice! I researched a lot and knew that I truly wanted a healthy, natural pregnancy and water birth at home some day in the near future whenever I get pregnant with our 2nd : ) I'm even going to cloth diaper!! I'm sooooo excited about this next time around because it will be an experience and adventure closer to my heart & who I truly am : ) Good luck with your homebirth!!
