I just wanted to share the story of the birth of my daughter, Felicity Clare, on January 9, 2010.  I was a patient of the midwives at Cambridge Birth Center in Cambridge, MA, an out of hospital birthing center.  Unfortunately there was a fire at the birth center only three weeks before my due date and it was not yet reopened when I went into labor, so I delivered at Cambridge Hospital where they did not have facilities for a water birth as I had hoped.  However, I was attended by two midwives and had a completely natural, wonderful delivery.  Felicity arrived weighing in at 10 lbs 15.7 oz and 21.25 in.  Having had an induction and an epidural with my first daughter, Corinne, I fully believe that the intervention-free birth I had with Felicity made all the difference with regards to bonding, breastfeeding, recovery, etc.  It was because of my decision to watch "The Business of Being Born" during my pregnancy that I delivered naturally with a midwife.  You can check out my blog entry for the full birth story and photos:
