My midwife is very very helpful but just wondering if anyone out there had any good tips about what to have around the house/prepare for our homebirth? Or anything that you remember you wish you had or something that sticks out as awesome that you did have around? Foods, supplies, entertainment(for early labor, of course!)?

Can you tell I'm in nesting mode? ha.

Thanks!

Best thing we had around was ingredients. My sister cooked me a hot meal - it was chicken mole' on steaming hot rice - right after the birth. It was warm, tasty, filling, and good for the soul! Vitamin water or gatorade was useful while in labor. We didn't use 50% of the supplies that came in our homebirth supply box. You truly don't need much besides warmth, peace and quiet, and a lot of towels.
