I love the baby signing 123 book by Nancy cadjan in the back of the nook they have a bunch of great books references to sign with babies and toddlers..

I started signing with my daughter at 6mon and she made her first and only sign (milk) a few days before she turned 8 months. She's 8 1/2 months now and signs milk intermittently. She also understands signs like hungry tired more sleep pajamas

I have been signing w/my son since he was about 4 mos old. He is now 9 mos and responds to and understands several signs but is not signing any himself. My older son was signing "more" and "nurse" at this age. I know you aren't supposed to compare your kids but...So everyone at what age did your kids start signing?

hello erin,
welcome to the group!

i was wondering if anyone could suggest a good sign book for a toddler? he's already signin' and talkin' too. i just want to keep him interested with the whole sign language process so hopefully he will continue to do it when he gets older.

with my son (8 months) i have the baby einstein my first signs and i just use the signs myself whenever i say the word...he knows the signs he just does sign for drink now

@Tarrah great news about signing milk! It all starts with one sign. It clicks that they can get what they want.

@ Brittany! I def. think signing helps kids want to communicate more. My daughter has an amazing vocabulary at 20 months that I atrribute to signing. She is very confident in communcating with us. That is great that your lil one is starting with sentences- and such a sweet one to start. :) My DD said, "Eliza wash hands too" the other night. ADORABLE! Yay for milestones.

I took out some books from the library here and there. I also rented Signing Time form the library- DVD's and CD's. I love the songs. I think 4 months is a great age. I will sign with baby @3 right from the start.
