Thanks for all the input I appreciate it. Jessica-I checked out that link and WOW very expensive. Cool but way out of my price range. :(  Jenn--I am going to go to the store wearing my son and find a bigger coat that I can zip us both up in. Great idea, not sure why it never occured to me to buy a bigger coat... and you have a beautiful family!

It's pricey but the people that I know that use it love them  Peekaru  Baby Carrier Overcoat  http://www.togetherbe.com/productDescriptionPeekaruSoftShell.aspx

Living in Florida, we don't get enough of a "winter" to justify me getting one.

You can buy a baby carrier that acts like a coat...someone else will have to chime in with the manufacturer, but I guess you could Google it...

So ladies...when its cold outside and you have to wear a coat and your baby how do you manage it? We got our Christmas tree the other day and it was cold so I had to wear my big winter coat. I found it to be very uncomfortable to wear the baby over the bulk of the coat and impossible to wear the coat over the baby....

Maya wraps are super simple, those are my fave. I can breastfeed my three week old in it or carry my toddler on my side or back.

Gypsymama is made of woven gauze. Woven wraps are what you want if you want to buy one to have for a long time.

These are my favorite types of woven.

Didymos

The other is Hoppediz.

Here is another website that carries several different woven wraps

My favorite carry's are the front wrap cross carry. Front cross carry, rucksack and a back wrap cross carry.

Hey Bonnie - so glad the Bali Breeze is serving you well! What types of carry's do you use for your baby?
Bonnie P Comment by Bonnie P on November 11, 2010 at 5:15pm
I'll take the liberty and answer for Darcel - Yep, she means just like that! I've got a Bali Breeze from that website and it's woven so it's supportive and doesn't sag or bouncy like crazy when you go for a walk that is anything more than a stroll. They really spread the weight across a large part of your body (almost your whole torso) and in my opinion are the BEST type of carrier for your back. I can wear my baby for hours and she's 6 months & 20 lbs. I really liked the stretchy wraps (like the Moby, Sleepy Wrap, etc) for the infancy period though. Good luck in your carrier search!
