I'm 40 weeks and 5 days pregnant and I am just awaiting my contractions! I have decided to have a waterbirth in the Miami Maternity Center, legally in the State of FL midwives can't give a natural birth until before 42 weeks, I hope I do not become induced but I am praying and hoping for the contractions to come soon :) I hope everybody is eating right and drinking lots of water! Much love to all the BoB moms from Miami, FL :)

Yes Patrice, I am currently 15 weeks 3 days and will be having a home water birth. I have started collecting the music for my labor. I find calming Celtic & Scottish music extremely relaxing and it really causes me to focus, so I am going to use that to center myself to make this the most incredible of my life!

After watching BOBB, my best friend, only 18 at the time, decided that was the route she wanted to take. Rylan was born at a birthing center last year. It was an amazing, peaceful water birth (: My other best friend just gave birth to Judah at the same birthing center last month. Much different that Rylan's birth, but equally amazing. I can't wait to get prego and have a home birth!

Thank you for reading it Lynda! I am glad you were inspired by it. I've been inspired myself by so many other women and their stories so I am glad to do the same! :-) Are you having an upcoming home birth?

I can not tell you the countless Families I served that originally were good with induction even.
I say that but am fairly sure they would not request a doula if their hearts and minds were aligned.
One of the assignments I suggest is watching BOBB for that more "informed" perspective, what they choose I am not prejudiced about, just that in making decisions, all the information they can have is the well spring they will draw on for life choices, the bigger the better.
Needless to say, over 3/4 make alternate choices as well as go on to further study!

My birthing class instructor gave me BoBB to watch. I had no idea it would affect me the way it did. We recently just moved from Chicago to West Des Moines and at 29 weeks pregnant I am now on the hunt for a midwife for a home birth. I had been pushing for a home birth but had zero support in doing so. I had my husband watch the film and he understood and immediately agreed to an at home birth. I only wish I had seen or heard of BoBB much sooner. I am praying that an at home birth will work out for us. I am also a nursing student and watching the work of the midwives on the BoBB film was very inspiring. I am hoping once my RN is complete I can go on to get my CNM. Thank you!

I was preg and on bedrest and me and Comcast became BEST FRIENDS. I stumbled upon BOBB and I was like WHAT is this?! I watched it and I am so glad I did. It pushed me to dive into my doula career ( here in WA whole-heartedly. THANK YOU SO MUCH! Now I reccommend each and every one of my clients watch it.

When I found out that I was pregnant a few weeks ago (my first) I watched BoBB and found my greatest instincts confirmed. I'm so excited to take the greatest challenge of my life. Unlike others who are afraid of breaking down and going for the drugs I think staying out of a hospital bed will be a great visualization tool for labor!
