I saw BoBB at a screening in March 08. I had given birth for the first time a year earlier in the Hospital and felt disappointed that a natural birth at the hospital isnt very natural. When I saw the movie I was so happy to see that it wasnt just me! That there really was something majorly wrong with the way the hospital treats women and how the way its run it for the hospital & dr's benefit and not the poor mothers who are doing all the work and going through this major event in her life! - and explained in such a way to make me even more confident that my gut instinct was right all along. So now i'm 1 month away from my due date (in June 09) with baby #2 and we are going to have a homebirth! and our midwife? we met her at the screening of the BoBB movie! It was amazing to see the movie and it changed forever the way I look at birth. Thank you Ricki!!

When i did my training to be a Doula, i found out i was pregnant, and during the pregnancy i knew all about how to give birth, and then when i went to the screening of BOBB in Perth, Australia, i was set and it confirmed everything. And in June 08 i gave birth to my daughter in water at home under the governement midwifery program here in Perth (I swapped to a homebirth 4 days before my due date). It was the BEST decision i have ever made. Thank you to all from BOBB.

I watched a showing of The Business of Being Born here in Brooklyn when I was about 8 or 9 months pregnant with my third child. I had already done tons of research on homebirthing, I had attended a beautiful homebirth as a Doula, and had already planned my homebirth. This movie gave me that last bit of strength and confidence needed to seal my self esteem and to tell myself I could definitely do it. I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl April 16, 2008 after 2 1/2 hours of very hard labor. She was born peacefully in my bedroom and was surrounded by my husband, my best friend, my Doula and my Midwife. Thank you BOBB for helping me to make the best decision I have ever made in my life.

I just watched it and I'm so angry that I'm pretty much at the end of my pregnancy and can't switch to a midwife. I'm having problems with my insurance, well they dropped me and if I get medicaid maybe they'll give me a list of midwives in the area that can take me this far along.

I always wanted to have a natural midwifery birth, but it didn't happen with the first birth because I didn't know where to look and now here I am with the second and the search was hard for me as well, especially since the hospital where i work is a block away from my house and I wanted a midwife who was close just in case.

I saw it in the theater in Nashville when I was nine weeks pregnant. I called The Farm the next day!

I went to a screening of it here in Denver with a bunch of midwives, doulas and Mom's of all kinds. It was awesome. I own 2 copies so I can have my clients watch them, if they are interested. I also recommend anyone that has access to Netflix, watch it.

I first watched it on Netflix, too. I even bought it several months after my baby was born, just to have it.
