Just thought I'd introduce myself...I am a chiropractic physician, and mom to two homebirth daughters...I don't think I need to tell you that both have been adjusted since birth...both go to the office with me, and during downtime, my two year old is either on the table begging me to 'work on' her, or she is on the physioball working on her baby...the 8 month old also responds very well to adjustments!

Rhonda, My hubby is a chiropractor....he adjusts our kids (5 total,6mo. to 14yrs) at least once a month or more often as needed. My daughter (4yrs) has Down Syndrome and she visits a Neuro. Chiro every 90 days....we have noticed similar onsets with her as you described....My husband believes that her visit and adjustment just releases what needed to come out....ie, runny nose etc,... She usually expels what she needs to and is back to normal w/ in 3 days or so. Have you found the same?

My son got his first adjustment at 9 days old. My chiropractor was so gentle with him. I plan to take him back when I get adjusted my self.

Actually, the adjustments for a little baby are very gentle, she just thinks daddy is playing with her when he looks at her upside down. That is my husband with her, he is so used to working with babies that the squirming doesn't matter. She gets checked about once a week. The kids that come into his office actually fight about who gets to go first, they love their adjustments so much. I always tell Emerson about how her daddy is a hero to a lot of people.

WOW! That is amazing. How has your daughter taken to being worked on? And struggles or difficulties? Does she squirm? Little Ella is a squiggly little thing. Love the picture, is that your husband and daughter?

My husband is a Chiropractor and he checked Emerson when she was about 20 minutes old because even natural births put a lot of stress on the spine. The way the brain tells our bodies how to work is by sending messages thru the spinal cord and out through the nerves. If there is any misalignments in the spine (subluxation), the body can not function at it's highest potential. The body needs no help, it just needs no interference. Chiropractic removes the interference so the body can function properly. In my husbands office, we have seen so many miracles thru Chiropractic. Kids have been healed of asthma, allergies, headaches, ear infections and even 2 kids have been healed of tourettes. It is so amazing that once the interference is removed from the body, it can heal as it's supposed to. For our daughter we are making sure her spine remains subluxation free, so she has a lower chance of having issues.
