I have a dilemma, and I need some suggestions! We've been using cloth diapers for a year now with no diaper rash problems. My baby recently had a bad rash which I believed to be a staph infection. I treated the rash and stripped all of our prefolds and used vinegar in the wash to remove any traces of the infection. Now the staph infection is gone, but whenever I change his diaper his skin is red. Not a diaper rash, just irritated skin. Could the vinegar I used to strip the prefolds be irritating his skin? I'm thinking of stripping the diapers again and using baking soda this time to see if I can resolve the problem. What do you think? Has anyone else had this problem?

My mother got a diapering service, for one year, as a baby shower gift. This was when she was pregnant with my sister 29 years ago... as soon as the service ran out she was DONE. She understands thing shave changed and is very supportive of our choices but a lot of other people think we're nuts. :) I just think it's funny people flip and give you their opinion on cloth diapering (without ever trying) but I can be respectful enough not to interject. lol. Ahhh.... life.... as for the bumGenius.... I bought some on Friday and since we didn't spend any money on our trip this weekend I get to buy more!!!

PS. You can register for bumGenius @ Target. I registered for them but like you said "I'm not holding my breath."

I ordered 12 last night--thanks for the tip, Meredith! I had registered for them as well, but it's better to have too many than not enough, and most of my family thinks I'm crazy for trying to cloth diaper. I'm not holding my breath for them to buy me my stash. :)

cottonbabies.com has a sale on bumGenious 3.0, buy 5 get one free! Their 12 pack is priced at $203 but with this deal you can get 12 for $173. We just placed our order. Hoping they're still on sale when payday rolls around. :)

Thanks ladies who looked at my blog. It makes me very happy to help. One other hint, keep your eyes out for deals on cottonbabies.com. When I bought my stash, I spend just under $15/diaper and my friend who just got hers spent even less! So the deals are there, if you have time to look and wait.

Gosh, Ladies, thanks for all of the information...this is great! Thank the Lord I have 20 weeks left to gestate, because that's how long it'll likely take for me to decide what to buy! HA!

Those SposoEasy diapers look really great! Have any of you tried them? I like how Green Mountain only sells 100% cotton :)
