About a month before my son's birth, I decided to become a Birthing From Within mentor and doula. Twelve weeks after his amazing birth, I had to go back to work part-time. I'm so fortunate that my husband is a professor who teaches three days a week, and is home with our son on the days that I work. Still, adding mentor and doula training in the mix is definitely a challenge! (Did I mention I'm completing my master's thesis too?) It's a labor of love learning how to work with birthing women, and I wouldn't have it any other way. But it does get difficult on the days when my 11-month-old closes my laptop to remind me that he needs attention too.

I am a WAHM of two, I've partnered with a company that provides safer, non-toxic alternatives to the everyday household products we all use on a daily basis. As parents we are concerned with "baby proofing" our homes to keep our kids safe but most of don't think about what we are actually bringing into our homes and exposing our children to....most cleaning products contain bleach, ammonia, formaldahyde, aerosol propellants and phosphates. These chemicals are very toxic and can have serious effects on our children. As a parent it's important to me to keep my kids as safe as possible so that's why I have converted my home to a non-toxic household and now my job is to educate other moms and show them how they can also convert their homes. I am the founder of the website, www.realbeautyis.com

Since giving birth 2 months ago to my first baby I am really struggling w/ balancing being a full time mom and continuing to work on my website. Is it too early to expect that I can be fully present for my daughter and continue to work or are my expectations too high? Have other mothers started their own businesses when their baby was this little? If so, I would LOVE some tips.
with beauty,
Lori

Everyone gets burnt out - even as moms. What you need is balance.

You aren't a jerk - we all feel like that when we finally get out of the house - moms guilt.

But really, we do need some time for ourselves and for exercise. It is good for us and good for the kids. They appreciate you more when you have a chance to get away for a few hours.

What kind of tips are you looking for?

Oh honey! If I had a dime for every time I felt burned out, I would be so rich!! I promise that things will get easier as time goes on, and you will miss these days more than you can imagine!!!

You are NOT alone!! I love my girls, really I do, but sometimes I just need a break from everything - and get a little me time!

Working and parenting are both full time jobs. How many full time jobs can one woman juggle before she needs to go to the gym and do something for herself? It's okay, it happens to a lot of women and none of us love our babies any less :)

I own/created/run Sofia Bean www.sofiabean.com. It all started with a gift box I designed and then I added soft layette items like what I liked for my active babies. The clothes came about because I had so much trouble shopping for simple neutral onesies when I didn't know what my second baby was going to be. I also added a few extras that I really liked after having my third baby. And I have sibling tees because I always like to add gifts for siblings to baby gifts.

yes yes come on moms lets talk mommy biz ;) I have a product I'd like to share it's Zoli bottles they are BPA free and Pthalate free, my little one was quite fusy when it came to taking a bottle and I swear these bottles turned her right around! Zoli was started by a mom as well, which makes it even better!!
