Hi All,
I am not a mom yet, but am currently ttc. In making the decision to start trying, I've been thinking a lot about how to balance my desire for a family with my career goals. I currently work for a national conservation nonprofit and am very dedicated to nonprofit work and developing my career. But I have always wanted a family and am so excited that the time has has come!

I recently decided to go back to school for a master's and while the idea has given me a lot of new energy, I can't help but worry that the time is not right and how will I support my family, is it selfish of me when I'm the primary bread winner? How do others deal with the pressure to provide for your family and your personal career goals?

Hello Everyone,

I am a doula, childbirth educator and retail/online store owner specializing in pregnancy, birth and parenting products and I market another product from home.

I have had 4 children, 2 hospital, 2 homebirths and I too am juggling a very busy work/home schedule and sure appreciate the feedback from other women in my situation.

I am very much looking forward to learning more about everyone here and Kim I sell G-Diapers in my store!

My name is Kim Graham-Nye and my husband and I moved from Australia to the US to start gDiapers. We have two growing boys (Fynn is now 7 and Harper is getting close to 5!). Both boys were born at home in the water so we have always been a huge fan of natural birth choices and were thrilled to get involved with BOBB. Ironically, I am only just joining this group as I have been too frazzled trying to juggle our family with our business (and often feeling like I am doing neither of them the way I would like!). But I am determined to tap into all the inspirational mamas out there who are also trying their best to nurture their families while somehow impacting the business world!
There are lots of us out there, so I am sure our collective intelligence is better than going it alone!

Hello all,

I am not a mom yet, but am 38 and hope to be soon. My sister (who is also not a mom yet, but also ready to be!) and I started a social entrepreneurship venture in the past few years and one of the things that is always top of mind for us is how this venture will serve us when we do become mothers. I guess that's the nature of being in your late 30s! ;)

Our business is called Lovemore (www.chooselovemore.com) and we make love-infused green wear and gear, including 100% organic cotton onesies. You can check them out here along with our toddler tees.

I am also an RN and am currently working as a doula and I give each of my "moms" a Lovemore onesie as a gift at the postnatal appointment. It is wonderful how my worlds are intersecting. At Lovemore we also give a portion of our proceeds to charity, and the cause we support is Earth Birth, an International Women's Health Collective run by midwives to foster a movement that encourages and promotes safe and peaceful birth as an act of social justice and community healing.

We love what we do and I'm excited to have the opportunity to share it with this amazing community! As someone who has recently started 2 new businesses (Lovemore & Holistic Doula NYC), please let me know if you have any questions I may be able to answer. I'm so happy to share what I've learned if it can make it easier for someone else!

I wish you ease and abundance as you manifest your dreams!

Hi Maha, I'm not pregnant (my 2 kids are 8 and 12 yers old, both born at home) but I would like to know if it will possibile to receive your DVD in Italy, where I'm leaving. I'm sure that many Italian moms-to-be will be interested in it!
Cheers and many compliments for your last water birth. I had one with my son (I was 42) and it was really a beautiful experience !

The Better Birth America network of websites (www.betterbirthamerica.com)is for sale. This established network of educational sites focuses on promoting all birth options to pregnant women. If you are interested in running your own birth related website business, please send me a message and we can chat about this fabulous opportunity. I hope someone in the birth world will continue this journey as I would hate to see it disapear.
