Thanks for this information, ladies. I live in the US, but I will certainly try to find a way to get one of these. Rebecca, your comments sound very similar to my thoughts.

Oops, I just read some of the posts below and saw mention of having someone mail it from Canada. Alas, I don't know anyone there, either. :(

I'm a mom-to-be living in Virginia and am really interested in using the birth trainer to minimize the risk of tearing and/or an episiotomy. Aside from calling my 72 yr old aunt-in-law living in the UK and having to discuss with her a product that involves stretching the vagina and asking her to order it for me and mail it to the US, do I have any other options...LOL?!? Does anyone know of any other way to receive this product in the States? (Aside from committing a felony, of course.) Thanks!

no one is 100% sure ...the manufacturer is trying to get it re-approved...fingers crossed...

Why is the Epi-no unavailable in the USA?

no distributor is allowed to ship to the US so if they know anyone in Canada they can buy it from the canadian site and then have it shipped to a friend

I bought mine in the summer of 2008. I was also surprised they shipped it to me since I couldn't find it sold anywhere in the US. If someone wanted to buy one in the US today, would they even be able to? What is the big deal, anyway?

I heard about it from my midwives in Vancouver - used it, had great success and am now the Canadian importer - I believe wholeheartedly in the product and am now on a mission to spread the word! When did you buy it from Australia - if it was July of 09 I'm surprised they shipped it to you as all distributors are not supposed to ship to the US - whatever - I'm glad you got it and had success - I still use mine proactively and feel good about focusing on prevention - there are too many horror stories!

Welcome Kim! How did you find out about Epi-no? I had done a ton of internet research and stumbled on it that way. Had to order it from Australia! But gosh, it was a lot cheaper and easier than having any hospital procedure..

used it with both of my pregnancies - saved my perineum! Still use it now (have used it for 5 years) proactively so I don't pee my pants!
