Did you know that Frontier Nursing University has the oldest and largest, continually operating nurse-midwifery education program in the United States? Or that Frontier introduced the nation's first family nurse practitioner program? Or that Frontier is ranked in US News and World Report's Top 50 graduate nursing schools as well as in the Top 15 for our nurse-midwifery and family nurse practitioner programs?

Do you know anyone interested in becoming a nurse-midwife?  They still have time to apply for admissions to CNEP Class 99! The deadline has been extended until January 20, 2012.  Check out our admissions site at:  http://frontierschool.edu/admissions

The American College of Nurse-Midwives is on a mission to solve these challenges so that every woman in America can have access to a midwife. Now you can help too—by joining Team Midwife. As a member of Team Midwife, you will help:

  • Spread the word about the excellent care that midwives provide.
  • Increase the number of midwives in practice.
  • Eliminate state laws that block women’s access to midwifery care.
  • Promote the safest childbirth practices for moms and babies.

Have you see the ICM report on the state of midwifery?  The UN is also pushing out a report today based on the ICM report released this week.  http://af.reuters.com/article/topNews/idAFJOE75J08A20110620

Vote for your favorite "Become a Midwife" video!

We are excited to announce that we had four fantastic videos submitted by our nurse-midwifery students for the ACNM Video Contest. The contest theme is "Become a Midwife," and each video idea is a unique and creative approach to the topic. Frontier is now hosting a "mini" contest of our own. You can view the videos at the links below, and vote for your favorite at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/MidwifeVideos. The winner will receive a grand prize package of Frontier goodies!
