Hello all! I am not a momma yet (still TTC), but I fully agree with keeping babies exactly the way nature intended. I just can't imagine putting my child through so much pain, all for an unnecessary procedure. It just doesn't make sense! I refuse to follow the herd (:

Short intro... I'm a mother of 4, with one on the way. My DH and all 3 of my boys are not circed, and personally I think it's cruel and unusual punishment to do such a thing to a newborn... although I guess it's not unusual enough lol.
I just watched the video from the link that was posted and I wonder if they will ever come to the point of doing mastectomies on young girls because breast cancer runs in the family... After all, that takes a toll on the health care system too, you know? I am so sick of all these people the don't do the research and just does what "everyone else" does or what their dr tells them is best. Whatever happened to thinking for ourselves and making our own decisions? Who is the CDC to tell us that our boys are going to be promiscuous, and contact HIV in the first place? they don't know that when they're newborns!? besides, even if they do contact HIV by sleeping around, (this is my opinion and don't mean to offend anyone) that's a consequence for their behavior. As parents we have the responsiblity to educate our kids on all levels, including the risks of such behavior.
Ok, vent over... lol

I have the email and I'm going to write a letter to the NYTimes with the info I posted in the HIV discussion above. Hopefully they will respond with a new article that addresses these statistics.
