I got an email from the intact America thing. they where talking about the conference that the CDC was having and suggested I write a letter to someone( can't remember who off the top of my head but it's in the email:). Did y'all all get this email?

I think a study has been done showing that FGM reduces HIV infection in woman by something like 55%

Oh yeah, Schoen is a huge KOOK! He is the "circumcision task force".

A friend of mine spoke to one pediatric urologist in Houston and he said he did over 250 surgeries on infant boys to "fix" problems with their circ. Can you imagine, that was just 1 pedi urologist! Now with the stem-cell research now using foreskin tissue the money is pouring in for circers. It is a win, win situation for everyone, except the boys and men that they become.

If any study was done to try to prove that removal of the labia or female foreskin lessened the spread of disease people would raging mad. In fact, studies have been done in other countries that circ women. These "studies" just don't get a shred of publicity b/c everyone knows they aren't worth the paper they are printed on, same is true with this Uganda "study". Fact is that with any study if you go in trying to prove something you can just about prove anything all in how you conduct it.

I wonder what they will do in 6 years when the first HIV vaccine is released. What leg will they stand on next???

How many Peds are on the CDC panel? They make a butt load of money on circumcision, and fixing them and all the problems they cause like adhesions etc. Both vaccines and circumcision are not about health, they are about money. Money makes the CDC go round...just check out the conflicts of interest in both vaccines and circumcision. I'm going to take a flying leap of faith and bet that Dr. Edgar Schoen had something to do with this panel...he is a Ped and a circumfetishist. (he has even written poetry about circumcision.

Jennifer - Here in lies the problem. There are vaccines on the market that have either not shown that high efficacy or have never even been tested for efficacy. Tetanus is the first one that comes to mind...they have no idea if it works or not. Hence, circ as an AIDS vaccine makes perfect sense when you follow the $$$
