As many of you know we have been working on a follow up film to The Business of Being Born, to be released this fall. We are deep into the editing now and are hoping some of you might help us out by sharing your personal birth footage and photos. Specifically, we are looking for:

1. Homebirth video footage
2. Birth video footage from anyone who had a VBAC.
3. Video of a sonogram
4. Photos of women recovering post-birth, looking especially unhappy or suffering.
5. Video footage of a free-standing birth center (exterior & interior)
6. NICU footage
If you have any of the below materials and would be willing to let us use them in the film, please fill out and sign the attached release form and mail us your footage by August 15, 2009 on DVD, mini DV, DVCam or any format you have, to the address below. Please do not send us your only copy as we will not be able to return the copy you send us. If you have photos (for item #4) or any questions you can email us at info@mybestbirth.com.

Mail footage with a brief description and the release form to:

Amy Slotnick
Business of Birth
15 W 11th St #3A
NY, NY 10011

Please note we will blur out faces of any doctors, birth attendants or people in the footage from whom we do not have approval.

Thanks for your help!

Warmly, Ricki & Abby

If I have my baby by then (due on the 16th) I'll gladly share video footage of the labor and birth!
Thanks!
Well...I'm still pregnant...oh well.
Our baby was born in a freestanding birth center. But we ended up going to the ER the next day because he was breathing WAY to fast and wouldn't nurse. They diagnosed him with pneumonia. So, all this to say, is that the type of NICU pics you were looking for or pics of premies in the NICU? Our son was there for his first 2 weeks of life, but hasn't been sick since! :)
Amy,

I have some sweet footage of my two year old meeting her baby brother postpartum at our homebirth where she asks me if the midwife is his "Mommy"? and realizes how her life has changed.
As a doula and massage therapist I have always felt that it is a tremendous emotional perk for siblings to be around birth in the safety and comfort of their own homes.
Does this interest you?

Thanks for your work,

Kristin
Yes, that sounds great! We would just need to be sure to have releases from the people on camera. The release form is attached on this discussion. Thanks! Amy
I have my UC video posted on YouTube (River's Birth). Is this something you would like? I can burn it to DVD if it is :)

I have a LOT more footage that I edited out... let me know if you are interested.
This looks great and feel free to include the extra footage. It would be ideal to get on dvcam but send a dvd if that is not possible. Thanks!
Ok, I am not sure what DVCam is...Pardon the ignorance :P
it is a format of video tape which some video cameras use, or mini-dv tape is also popular and good for us.
Oh, I see. The Video was taken on a HDD camcorder so I would have to send the whole thing, I think?
I also have the video from a bunch of ultrasounds through the years... was there anything specific you wanted to have? ie. heartbeat, finding out gender etc
