Hey mamas and mamas-to-be that have home birthed or are planning to birth at home!

I'm very excited to be moving forward with my goal of creating a info/educational/just feel good place to go (a website/blog hybrid) to learn about home birth!

So far I have done a lot of research, connected with quite a few home birth mamas who are willing to share their stories and birth art, and have purchased the domain BringBirthHome.com.

Would any of you be interested in participating?

This means contributing content in the form of stories or information, pictures, birth art and any other resources pertaining to home birth.

What's in it for you?

Well...most importantly you're going to be spreading the "good" word about home birth. Less fear and more love. We are a very small percentile in the U.S.

Secondly, I would love if you would include a link to your blog or website of choice, whether it be business based or personal.

I'd love to start expanding the community of home birthers across the web - don't you think BringBirthHome (home to your home and home to your heart) is a great site name?

I am SO excited about it.

Would love your feedback if nothing else! Have a great day.

Kaitlin

It sounds awesome, and I would love to be involved. I had a home birth in July, and I'm also a birth doula and have a blog all about pregnancy and birth. I would be honored if you would post a link to my blog: http://www.mamasandbabies.blogspot.com/
I had my first baby at home and posted my birth story here.

I don't hear a lot about women having their first baby at home--but I hear so many stories about women who had their second, third, fourth (etc.) baby at home and wish they'd known more about homebirth/natural birth so they could have experienced the joy of homebirth from the very beginning.

I'd love to see more places new first time moms can go to read birth stories like mine and others so they can get the support, info, and encouragement they need.

I'd be happy to share, answer questions, etc.--whatever--I love to spread the word as much as I can!!

Thanks!!
Good for you! and for home birth!!

Here is one of the most beautiful thing I have seen on HB

Pascale....

I saw this a couple of weeks ago whilst searching for pregnancy and birth photography and I TOTALLY agree with you.... it is the most beautiful collection of photos I've seen. Always makes me cry!!
I would love to participate! I had a wonderful unassisted birth in May. My birth story is posted on my blog (as well as a piece I recently wrote reflecting on my son's birth). I would be more than happy to send you pictures of the birth as well. My email address is sweetlittlemissp@hotmail.com
Yes, I'd be interesting in participating!
Oh my gosh, everybody, I'm thrilled to see your responses and willingness to contribute! :) Yay!

I will be in touch with all of you very soon - for now you're going on my 'contacts' as people who will be participating.

Thanks so much and I'll be in touch!
Kaitlin

PS - and thanks for sending me your links, I'll gladly look over them and read all about your births this evening. Just put my little one down to bed.
Everyone - please, if you love home birth, click the link that Pascale provided to view a beautiful and touching home birth story by photograph.

I had no idea I felt SO damn sentimental about my home birth after watching the photo slideshow and reminiscing about that very special day in my life. I started bawling!

Thank you so much for sharing, Pascale. Stunning.
Hi Kaitlin,

I'd be more than happy to help. I had an amazing home water birth with my second child and am planning the same again for my third child next February. I would be more than willing to let you use some of the photos and share my experiences. I had my first 2 children in the UK as we only moved to the US 18 months ago so I've many observations and comments on how much further along the road the UK is in promoting homebirth compared to here. My children have been 10lb 7oz and 10lb, and my doctor reckons this third one is a 10lber too(!) so I'm definitely proof that having babies with a large birth weight is no reason to deny a woman a homebirth solely for that reason!!

Thanks!! Jane
Okay everyone, update time!

I'm turning my focus on learning WordPress so I can create my own blog and not outsource the job.

It's going to take some time and effort...but I'll still be around, both here and on Facebook. (if we're not friends on FB yet, find me by searching 'kaitlin rose parmenter'!

Here's what I'd like for you to do (please):

Email your story and/or pictures, birth art, video or other information...I will be compiling all of the contributions in a folder while I work away on setting up the site.

Please use this email address: bringbirthhome@gmail.com

Thank you so much everybody! I look forward to reading, watching and seeing your stories!
I would love to be part of this. Give me a few days to get things together. Great idea!!!
Thanks Jamie, go ahead and check out Bring Birth Home to get an idea of what is going on :)

Glad to have you a part of the project!!
