I guess I am lucky; I had a homebirth 17 years ago. My daughter is beautiful. My midwife was a midwife with Ina May in Tn. it was reaklly a great experience.

I bought Ina May Gaskin's book and can't wait to read it. I love this site and reading what everyone has to say. If any of you live in the Orlando area then I would love to chat. I didn't know yesterday was International Midwives Day. Hooray for midwives!!

Last night I was able to attend the book release party for Your Best Birth. It was a fantastic night. Ricki and Abby honored Dr. Jacques Moritz and Ina May Gaskin and it was such a treat to hear them all speak. Ina May is working so hard to raise awareness about maternal mortality. It is so wonderful that birth issues and choices are being brought to the foreground by these amazing women (and men).

When I had my babies all the women attending were called midwives. I just want to say to any women attending births whether you are midwives, sisters, friends, doulas, birth junkies, have a wonderful Midwife Day.
