Hello ladies! I just had my first son at home in March. It's awesome to see so many homebirth mamas in one place.

I am a woman who has truly been transformed by my birth experiences.
After having two cesareans, a challenging hospital VBAC and just this past Christmas an amazing home waterbirth, I have learned to believe in my body and embrace it's incredible power to birth.

Hi ladies!
I'm the mommy of 8 boys and 1 girl. I have had 4 hospital births and 5 home births. I am also a birth doula. We are expecting #10 in December and will be planning another home birth.
I look forward to hearing everyone's input here!

Hello Everyone: I am a supporter of homebirths. I believe this method allows for mom to be more in charge and empowered to create and facilitate the birth that she wants, especially if it utilizes non-traditional approaches. As a Maternity Practitioner, clients have benefited from "alternative" modalties to assist the journey in a safe, gentle and non-invasive way. Just image adding Crystals and Flower Essences to your birthing tub to assist balancing th emotions or having a blend of Lavender, Chamomile and Marjoram essential oils massaged on your body to assist pain management. These are just examples of how the birthing experienced can be enhanced in a pleasurable way.

Hello - I'm a mama to 4 children, all born at home. My oldest is 8 now and was born in my bed, then I have my 5 year old who was an unexpected UC waterbirth (a powerful and wonderful experience), and my 3rd & 4th children are 3 year old twins - the first one was born in the water and the second in my bed, 2 hours & 32 minutes later.
I fell in love with pregnancy & birth following my first birth experience but really became passionate after my second one at which time I studied to become a childbirth educator for the Bradley Method. After teaching a couple of series I decided that working for them was not right for me so I left that. In the meantime, I started renting out birth tubs and attempted to start a homebirth support group where I lived at the time but couldn't get enough interest to really get it going. I've dreamt about continuing on to midwifery school and then while reading the book Pushed by Jennifer Block I felt my calling to it. I'm now planning to begin midwifery school once my twins are in first grade.
I'm looking forward to lots of fun birth discussion here!

Hi everyone...
I'm a momma (of 5 mostly grown children, ages 14-24) and I was called into midwifery after my second-born daughter's amazingly empowering homebirth. It took me about 15 years of life & raising babies to answer that call, but I am now a practicing CPM (and occasional hospital monitrice) serving families in northwestern PA and western NY. I love to read *everything* about birth and parenting, so I'll be poking my nose in here from time to time to get my fix :)
I just created a small introductory website ( and am hoping to develop forums for families there someday too. I know this environment will provide tons of inspiration!
Love and Light,

Does it count if I birthed in someone else's home at The Farm? My son Giacomo was born there last May. Simply amazing!
