Hey Ericka, I found out recently that Sheila Kippley has a new book out called "The Seven Standards of Ecological Breastfeeding." It is basically the same os BF&NCS except new stories, more stats, and more emphasis on the Seven Standards.

Also, there is a great site not already mentioned: It is the Kippley's official website and they have a FREE comprehensive how-to NFP manual right on the site.

About the spotting...some women will have bleeding/periods/spotting and NOT ovulate. I have a friend who will have "periods" for months before she actually ovulates and is fertile again. Taking temps is really great for confirming this...obviously though, temps are a retroactive sign of ovulation, so mucus will be your guide in a proactive sense.

Other books that I highly recommend are The Art of Natural Family Planning by Kippley, Breastfeeding and Natural Child Spacing by Kippley, Fertility Cycles and Nutrition

I bought a book that came highly recommended from friends called Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. She also has a website It's pretty fabulous.

THanks for the link! It is similar info as in Ecological Breastfeeding and Natural CHild Spacing (which is a great book). I guess I am just nervous, ha ha, as we are switching our NFP method from Creighton to Symptothermal and I am not all that confident about it yet, ha ha!

My biggest question right now with NFP is during the ecological breastfeeding phase... I have had two episodes of "spotting" (less than a light period) but no temp shifts, and not sure what to do in terms of abstaining to postpone next pregnancy...any thoughts?
