Hi Cheryl. I'm from 30 min. North of Pittsburgh in Harmony, just so you know there are others in this area. I'm hoping to be expecting my third any day now. I don't know much about inducing lactation, but I do know that the skin to skin contact is important (and so much fun just to cuddle with baby). Good Luck!

Hi everyone, I'm from Pittsburgh. Hubby and I expecting our first child thru a serrogate. I am a post operative transsexual and therefore cannot have my own child, but hubby and i found a wonderful woman to be our serrogate using IVF with his sperm and my sisters donated eggs. Still have 6 months until our baby is due but this site is so great at information and giving you ideas to think about. There is a reason it takes nine months and that is to help with all there is to consider and learn. I am attempting to induce lactation so I can have that part of the bonding experience with birth. Hope to hear from anyone who would like to comment or be friends

Hi Bethann, I'm in Philly, expecting my 2nd baby and hoping for a homebirth. There are resources out there but they can be tough to find -- I asked my local homeschooling group for recommendations. Here are a few they recommended:

http://www.motherlandmidwifery.com
http://www.risingmoonmidwifery.com
http://www.believeinbirth.com

Hope this helps :)

Question - did you ladies have home births? Are home births acceptable in PA? I have tried to find others in PA that are home birth moms, but I have not heard of anyone in the Philly area. I know we have midwives and birthing centers, but it feels like no one is talking about home birth in the philly area. Any input would be great!
