Stay at Home Moms

A group for those of us who have the opportunity to stay home and raise our babies. Some of us have been privileged enough to be home before but for others this is their first time out of the workforce and it can be scary.

I just want to say that being a SAHM is the greatest thing. My son is 18 months and is such a blast to be with all day. Its tough sometimes but he is such a character that you never know what your going to get. I love watching him learn and playtime is different everyday. Kudos to all working moms for being able to manage both work and kids but I wouldn't trade this for anything.

Some people actually asked me if I was serious about taking a prenatal course, just wanted to share my opinion on this topic, please feel free to comment :)

My 9 month old Emma has really sensitive skin and had consistent diaper rashes since birth.  I have tried using many different products, and they usually have taken several days for the rash to go away.  Yesterday I tried this diaper rash cream that I had found at the Baby show, and honestly, her diaper rash went away within a day! I am so amazed that I just wanted to share this product and this amazing story behind the lady who had invented it.  http://www.startwithmom.com/article-baby-butz-cream

Hello ladies! i have an important question. I was a stay at home mom with my first son for a year, than went back to work PT, and soon after FT.  I do have a very wonderful job, but I am always thinking and wishing constantly in my mind that I would rather be a stay at home mom. My dream would be until my all my children were of school age to where I could work a FT job during the day. Well I just have my son right now who will be 2 at the end of June, but I am looking towards the future and after my 2nd one someday I would love it if I could be a stay at home mom again but would only be able to do that I am sure if I worked from home. Both my husband & I right now need to both be working.  So my question if anyone could help is how do I go about finding a legitimate and well paying "work from home job"??? My friend (who is a stay at home & currently pregnant with her 2nd child) is also wanting to possibly work from home but is worried about the scams, so I would like to get information for the both of us. So any suggestions or helpful resources/sites would be most appreciative.  My sister-in-law & cousin-in-law are both nannies & I have experience being a professional babysitter in the past as well as doing it since my adolescence, but would like to see other options of work from home jobs-i.e. government jobs, viral assistant, something with computers, typing, etc.

Thank you!! And I apologize for any typos.....in a hurry lol.

Whatever you do, don't force the issue! That can make things much worse for both of you.
Have you tried letting him run around naked, or bottomless? We would always put the potty in the living room, and they picked out a toilet seat for the bathroom.

You could also try asking him if he wants to sit on the potty every 20 mins, especially after drinking something.

well with my daughter I kind of had it easy she was completly potty trained in three days no diapers since. What I did was it was right before her second b-day she was ready she started telling me ether before or after she had gone in her diaper. I made chart on the all bought her favorite stickers and if she went in her potty she got to put a sticker on the chart. I was going to do is after certain amount of stickers get her a toy but the stickers alone seemed to work. I also found that putting the potty in the bathroom didn't work living room was good. hope this helps
