Stay at Home Moms

A group for those of us who have the opportunity to stay home and raise our babies. Some of us have been privileged enough to be home before but for others this is their first time out of the workforce and it can be scary.

I've left my career as a Child Day Care Administrator to be a stay at home mom. I've been a nanny and a preschool teacher and worked with children ages 2 months-teens but for some reason I'm a bit terrified of taking care of my own child. I'm fine taking care of a room full of 16 kids or 10 toddlers or 8 babies but one baby that's mine is a challenge. He's seven weeks and four days old today so at least he's nearing the age of kids I actually know what to do with. I'm just so scared I'm going to do it wrong. I've been a teacher before and a caregiver but I've never been a mom before and I don't know if I know how to be a stay at home mom. Any reassuring words from somebody who's been at this longer than I have or similar concerns from anybody else? I don't know how people with no experience with children handle babies. I think I would've been a bit lost if I hadn't been doing this professionally for years.
