This is for the wives of all those serving in our military. I know it's hard to find other like-minded moms and it feels like we're in the minority (with midwives, home births, etc.) so here is a safe place to come discuss our lives.

My husband is a Captain in the ANG. We are expecting our first baby this August. He's deployed to Iraq once and he will be going again when our baby is about 1 year old. I'm happy to have found this group, I will be following! :) To all of the ladies dealing with the ups and downs of predeployment, deployment and as I am learning, the return home, hang in there and keep faith that it will turn out alright.

Jodi- I had my daughter at home in less than 5 hours and my midwife didn't make it. It was crazy but amazing and it was the greatest experience of my life!!!

Hi, I am currently a stay at home mom to two children & a military wife. My husband is a Sgt in the Army and is getting ready to deploy on his second tour to Iraq. I gave birth naturally to a beautiful little girl Gracie Addison on March 28th. I also have a six year old little boy named Jonah. I wanted a homebirth but Tricare would not cover the cost due to there being no CNM providing homebirth in our area. In the end I was thankful that I did not choose homebirth as my birth lasted less than four hours start to finish and my midwife would have never made it as Gracie also chose to come during a horrible snowstorm. I was one push away from delivering in the car! I am excited to share my love for birth and our military husbands through this group.

Hello I'm a AF wife looking to connect. I am also a breastfeeding home bither of 3 little ones. Just wondering has anyone recently had any success with getting tri-care to re-emburse for home birth?
