Baby fussing/screaming when I try to nurse her

Hi,I am a WOHM with a 16 week old who will start to nurse, suck a few times, pull away and cry and/or scream and arch her back.  I'll calm her down a bit and try again and the same thing will happen.  Seems like we go on like this for awhile b/c I worry that she is not getting enough to eat, until I get exhausted from trying or am somewhat satisfied with how much she ate.   This has been going on for a month or so.  The only time she feeds well is at night which means she ends up sleeping with…See More

I, too, really like the Flip diaper system b/c you can use the covers with so many different inserts: prefolds, disposable liners, fitteds, etc.   I just bought some used Motherease OS diapers and like them so far, too.

About Me

I am so glad I found this community. I came across it when I got pregnant in August with my first and watched the movie. Then a few weeks later I had a miscarriage and the generous and kind women here provided support and a sounding board for what I was going through.

I am 30 years old and back at trying to conceive, trying to not let the recent miscarriage set me back (which is a daily struggle).

I have always been interested in women's health issues and worked at Planned Parenthood for a number of years. I remember reading about Ina May Gaskin and her books on midwifery and being completely inspired. I've always believed that I would have my children at home if at all possible with a midwife.

My husband and I recently bought an old homestead in western Montana and it's going to be the perfect place to raise our children! Lots of space to roam and get dirty and have fun......
