I don't think this is a good idea at all. What is going to happen when a woman has a chance of having a vaginal delivery, but her doc has had her do this test and realizes she's at risk for C-section? My guess - the poor birthing mama is going to be…

Congrats Marina!!!! Now that you're pregnant, you should have at least a small snack between meals. Studies have shown that mothers who only eat 3 square meals per day end up birthing babies who don't grow and develop as well as those from moms who…

They stopped. I hope this contraction pattern doesn't keep up over the coming days. Baby, either put me into labor or keep me out of it!!!

2:30 am contractions 8 mins apart 60 secs long; 3:45 am 5 mins apart 90 secs long; 4am -5:15am 3 mins apart 90secs long. Now disappearing?!?

Shana, I am sending healing thoughts your way...and best wishes for future tries for a BFP. Wishing you lots of shimmering baby dust.....

Just goes to show us all that sometimes mother instincts are best. Medical care would be much improved if they spent less time convincing women that when there's a conflict between their intuition and the doctor's, the doctor "knows best" because he…

I can't speak for Ricki and Abbey, but in my view, they are not at all responsible for this outcome. The point of _The Business of Being Born_ was the fact that women have *choices*. The entire thing was about informed consent, not about manipulatin…

If you want to protect your sheets and bedding, why don't you purchase a fitted vinyl sheet to fit snuggly on your mattress? That way, you know nothing's gonna get messy. Purchase a crappy sheet and put it on, then put on the fitted vinyl or plastic…

Oh no Evangelia :(. Has the miscarriage been confirmed by ultrasound? If so, I'm so so sorry to hear this. Did your doc have you on progesterone to try to maintain the pregnancy, or is this something you might be able to try in the future? I'm so so…

Wow, this sounds amazing. And it's wonderful that they've been able to find such a holistic OB to be active in this birth center too! I really hope this sort of thing keeps up - it'll do wonders for women's healthcare :)

AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!! I'M soooo happy for you Evangelia :). Oh my Gosh. Oh my gosh! I'm sure finally falling preggo was worth not feeling so hot after taking the Femara, right? :) What a blessing. Wow. I'm wishing you lots of very sticky baby dust…

I think it looks like you ovulated on day 21, too. Hopefully by charting this whole cycle you'll get more answers - you're in my thoughts, Laney!!!

I'm grateful for all the responses on this thread :). We ended up purchasing a stroller and a Moby Wrap. Our plan is to expand our wrap collection as we both get the hang of it, but have the stroller 'just in case.' The stroller we purchased also ha…

Safety of Baby Being Born in Amniotic Sac ?

Hi Ladies,

I'm pretty sure I came across research on the safety of babies being born in the Amniotic Sac ("en Caul"), but I'm having trouble relocating the source. A friend of mine mentioned that her doctor said that it is dangerous for the baby to be born "en Caul" because the baby could choke and die....I'm sure this is incorrect. The un-clamped cord and placenta are what keep the baby going, and it doesn't take it's first breath until its face is exposed to air. But she was a medical… Continue

thank you so much for your comment and your support. You are totally right about those "comments" from friends and family that just minimize what you're going through. Its hard to block them out but I am doing my best. I pray that we are able to get pregnant again and that it STICKS. thanks again for the support.

I am doing alright Marci. Body feels pretty normal. I have been on a weight loss program to lose about 20 lbs for the betterment of myself, but also hoping perhaps it will help with conception. Life has been pretty rough b/c I have not been able to find a job and we are getting desperate here =/ I will keep you posted. Thank you for checking in on me! It means a lot!

Prefolds and covers are definitely the best way to go for saving money with cloth diapers.
We still use disposables off and on. So don't feel guilty for using them :)
Cloth diapering can be overwhelming at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's easy and fun.

We use prefolds, covers, flats, fitteds and pockets, and wool.
The wool are diaper covers and we use those for overnight. They don't leak, and are very breathable.
I say keep it simple with prefolds and covers until you get the hang of it. When you feel like trying something different and venturing out, check your local craigslist for cloth diapers and diaperswappers.com

I love cloth diapering! Love doing the diaper laundry and folding it, putting it away.
What kind of diapers are you using?
I bet your getting so excited to meet your new baby girl :)

Doing real well. My sister is coming over today to meet Liev for the first time, that should be fun. She lives in another state, so only gets back our way about 3 times a year. Liev is growing. Not sure how much he weighs, but I can certainly feel it when I pick him up. At first he felt so light compared to Hunter, now there isn't much of a difference.

How have you been? Not much longer before your little babe makes an appearance.
