About meMy name is Sierra Murach. For the last 2 1/2 years I have been an Army Wife, surviving training missions, tours to Iraq, pregnancy loss, going through childbirth alone, and raising a daughter, all for the Stars and Stripes. Corey and I share a beautiful daughter, Hayden, who celebrated her first birhday on St. Patrick's Day. We are currently living in Vancouver, WA.
Why I'm hereHayden's birth was the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me. Once upon a time I actually wanted to be a midwife but needles scare the shit out of me so that was out of the question. So, being a doula was just another way to be close and supportive of a mother and her baby in birth. I have received a scholarship from CAPPA to fulfill my dream of becoming a Labor Doula. In order to receive my certification, I must attend three births. I have created this site to help me achieve this goal. Upon me reaching my certification, I hope to volunteer with Operation Special Delivery, which is a program that provides volunteer doulas to women whose partners are, or will be, overseas with the military during the time they are due to give birth. What is a Baby Bloom? The name actually came to me after my Aunt had commented about taking care of the flower inside of me, while I was pregnant. At the time it seemed silly to me, but now it makes so much sense. Your baby is a beautiful little flower, one of the most beautiful of God's creations, and for those 10 months, you are it's constant source of nourishment, to help it grow into something wonderful. They're your baby bloom!
