I'm sure she could have pushed once more if the doctors would have been a little less hands off and given her a chance to regroup and take a deep breath and push the rest of him out. The doctor was yanking the baby out when there really wasn't an emergency. The head can actually stay outside your body several minutes before there's any danger!

They were trying to get the baby out, the mother was begging them to. That said, it would have been just fine to let the baby come out on its own.
