This is so inspiring!!! I have about the same story as you except that I had a vaginal birth then two c-sections one being a a "failed" VBAC. I really hope that is I have a four child that I can follow in your foot steps!! Thank you for sharing!!

Thank you so much for sharing such an intimate life changing event with the world!!
You have touched so many women and at the same time are educating them so that they can make
informed choices in the future. So much is "said" in viewing your film and as a midwife it makes me so happy
to have a visual teaching aid to help spread the word that birth is normal. Thank you for sharing and helping women to claim their rite of passage! Much love to you and your family....

This video is almost an exact replica of my 3 births. it was amazing and thank you for showing it. I too had 2 c-sections before delivering at home. And the funny thing is one of her midwives was also my midwife. Jill Colin is an amazing midwife and she takes all doubts away when it comes to whether your body can do it or not. I wish more women knew about this so they and their babies didnt have to go through unnecisary surgery.

Beautiful! This video is such an inspiration to those of us who have had our baby cut from us without need. Both Alex and her husband are incredible. I can't wait to birth my next baby at home.

I've seen many c-sections on shows like The Baby Story but none have ever touched me as watching these two did. My thoughts as I watched were "it's as if they are handling livestock" - so barbarian and cruel.
It would be so nice for women to watch this and think "uummm failure to progress", "no choice for vbac" - and then think "let me learn what birth is really and take all steps to ensure I am the closest to it".
Thank you for sharing this Alexandra - it was very moving and I'm sure you will be a part of a few more babies being born at home in the humane why nature intended...not crying on their mother's breast.

SO Moving! I NEVER cry in even the biggest tear jerker movies. I was bawling watching this. I too had a c-section after failure to progress with my first. I'm taking a risk and birthing at a different, VBAC friendly hospital birth center with a family practice doctor with this pregnancy. I hope I remember your film if I find myself in a similar situation during this pregnancy.
THANK YOU! for sharing your experience.

Amazing. I had a c-section last August. I didn't meet my baby for 4 hours either. She was in the NICU. I also don't remember the first time I nursed her, I was so drugged up. Thank goodness my husband video taped it. I look forward to a VBAC. Thanks for sharing the inspiration.
