WOW, this is very interesting. I don't know the full story here but maybe this couple had spent some time with this beautiful dolphin prior to birth. Maybe special to them or symbolic in one way or another. If you knew what was really in the water we drink or shower ourselves and our children in, or the amount of dirt and bugs we eat each year with out even knowing it, this would prove very clean to you, and it is. Also this dolphin wouldn't be bothered by any of our fluids in the least. As far as a dolphin ever acting out it's doubtful, very doubtful. They are highly intelligent mammals, in fact very close to that of a human being. We would never attack in this situation of course, we would be supportive and in aw, much like this dolphin is showing. A dolphin would fully understand what is taking place in this video, respect it and be supportive. As strange as that sounds it's natural for them to act as they are in this video. That sound you are hearing from the dolphin is a sound that is peaceful and calming, this is their way of talking and showing support. I'll bet baby enjoyed the sound as well. Dolphin's understand us, pregnancy and birthing and how it all started. Remember they are one of the only other mammals that have sex for pleasure, like humans, unlike many other animals that do so only to reproduce. I have swam with these beautiful mammals (not something I thought I would enjoy as much as I did) I had tears in my eyes afterward as I was so overwhelmed with amazement. If I knew this dolphin ahead of time I would do this in a second given this one in a lifetime opportunity..... what an experience it would be, what a story, what a birth! I think this video is amazing. There is a message here that says to me that birthing for a woman is as natural as a dolphin in water, which it is. Very cool!

It was great that it was a natural birth, but what was the need for the dolphin. Not sure if it was a great idea. What if the dolphin would have acted out or if it would have been blood in the water. Who aloud this and how did they get to birth in a pool with a dolphin, It is hard enough to defend homebirth or even a birthcenter birth , but a birth with a dolphin.

I think the video is nice. I don't feel bad for the dolphin because 1st...it probable choose to be there and 2nd the ocean and/or containers i.e Sea World holding water dwelling animals swim in their own bodily fluids anyways:)

Sorry, but that's just disgusting. Poor dolphin swimming in amniotic fluid. Yuck.

This is really odd to me. I wouldn't want to give birth in water with an animal in it for sanitation reasons.... Good for them, but I still can't figure out why the need for a dolphin to be present.
